Effective 28 June 2011 - The callsign K8SV no longer exists in the FCC database. The new (old) call has been changed to WA3UOO. Please make a note of it.

Site updates coming. Contact me at rick@ricktressler.com with any questions.

I was waxing nostalgic after my good friends K3TN, WA3WHE and WA3UHY came out for Dayton Hamvention 2011back in May. So much so that I wanted my old, original call from the good ol' days back. Sorry 8 landers, but I am a 3 lander at heart, despite being pretty much permanently situated here in Columbus, Ohio.

Introduction
Hello. My name is Rick Tressler and my callsign is WA3UOO, formerly K8SV, AA8VQ. Welcome to my ham radio website. This is something I've been wanting to do for at least 10 years, but for many reasons, it has been simply put off. One of which is simply taking the time to work on it. My XYL, Maggie and I live in Columbus, Ohio. I am originally from Baltimore, MD and moved here for my job in July 1991. Back in Maryland, I was WN3UOO, then upgraded to General a couple years later which changed the call to WA3UOO. I kept that callsign for many years until I finally upgraded to the Amateur Extra. The automatic callsign given was AA8VQ. I didn't like it; no good for CW. So, I got a vanity call, K8SV which works much better on CW. Well, now I am back to being WA3UOO. Last time I am changing callsigns - really.

I've been continuously licensed since 1973 and, for the most part, have remained active for nearly the entire time. I don't get on the radio as much as I would like. Between a job that demands nearly 6 months of travel a year, other hobbies and activities around the house with the XYL, there's not much time for getting on HF.

Feel free to poke around the site. This site was originally set up in May 2007. I hope to add more stuff to make it enjoyable and useful for both hams and non-hams alike. If you have any suggestions or comments, drop me an email at rick@ricktressler.com. -Thanks!
